Belmont Stakes venue and distance
The race's name does not always identify the track where it is being run. The 2026 Belmont Stakes was staged at Saratoga, with a 1¼-mile race distance. NYRA announces a return to Belmont Park on June 5, 2027. Use the conditions published for your chosen edition rather than carrying a Saratoga distance or travel plan into the following year.
One feature race inside a festival
The Belmont Stakes Racing Festival includes several days and multiple stakes races. Festival opening time, the day's first post and the Belmont Stakes post time answer different questions. For a track visit, choose a date and admission area first. For a replay, find the named Belmont Stakes race, rather than another race from the same festival card.
Belmont Stakes: Common Questions
Where is the 2027 Belmont Stakes?
NYRA lists Belmont Park as the host for June 5, 2027. The 2026 edition shown in the race-day panel was at Saratoga.
Is every Belmont Stakes run over the same distance?
Do not assume so. The 2026 Saratoga edition was 1¼ miles; consult the official conditions for the edition you are following.
Does a festival pass mean the main race starts then?
No. A festival spans race days, and each day has its own first post. The Belmont Stakes itself has a separate scheduled post.
Which races make up the Triple Crown?
The Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes, in that order. The Travers is a separate late-summer race.
