Keeneland Fall Meet 2026: Race Day Guide
Fall Stars and the October racecards
Keeneland’s Fall Meet brings several weeks of Thoroughbred racing to Lexington. The opening Fall Stars Weekend is a useful starting point for fans following the season’s leading horses, with stakes races across different ages, distances and surfaces. A stakes race is one contest within a day’s card; the meet is the longer run of racing dates.
Start with the published race days above, then open a race for its entries, distance and scheduled post time. The date range does not mean racing takes place every day. Keeneland’s official 2026 Fall Meet calendar lists October 2–24, with Mondays and Tuesdays dark. Check the dated card before arranging a visit.
Plan around first post, gates and your time zone
For a track visit, allow time to enter, find your seat and see the horses before the first race. Keeneland lists racing gates and first post separately from morning activities. A morning visit is a different part of the day from admission to the afternoon race program; check your ticket and the venue’s visitor information.
The time-zone selector changes displayed race times, while race-day labels retain the Kentucky calendar date. Use the individual race’s scheduled post time when setting a reminder. A television program may begin before that race, and a delay on the day can move the actual start.
Follow the fall races into championship weekend
The Fall Meet includes Breeders’ Cup Challenge races, but the Breeders’ Cup World Championships are a separate event at Keeneland on October 30–31. Qualifying races, championship races and supporting races have their own names and race numbers. Keep the edition and date together when comparing entries, finishes or a replay.
After a race, open its details for the available finishing order and replay. A replay may appear later than the result. For planning, use the official Fall Meet calendar and Keeneland visitor guide.
Keeneland Fall Meet 2026: Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Keeneland Fall Meet the Breeders’ Cup?
No. The Fall Meet and the October 30–31 World Championships have separate racecards. Open the Breeders’ Cup edition page for the championship weekend.
Does Keeneland race every day during the meet?
No. The meet spans both racing and non-racing days. Use the official calendar to choose a visit, then check whether that date’s racecard is available.
Which time should I use for the next race?
Use that race’s scheduled post time in your selected time zone. Gates opening, first post and the start of TV coverage are different times.
Where can I find a finish or replay?
Choose the completed race by date and number. Its detail page shows available results and video; use the official results link if your race is not listed here.
