Churchill Downs Fall Meet 2026: Race Day Guide

Autumn racing after Churchill’s September meet

Churchill Downs’ Fall Meet is a separate Louisville season from the September meet and the spring Kentucky Derby period. The 2026 fall edition runs from late October into November. Use the dates at the top of this page to identify the edition before choosing an afternoon or a named feature race.

The full meet range includes days without racing. A monthly calendar helps choose a date, while a published racecard tells you which contests are scheduled that day. Open the numbered race for its individual entries and conditions; the meet’s name alone does not identify a particular field of horses.

Choose a race day, then the race you want

To follow a horse or feature race, begin with the date and look down the day’s card. Each contest has its own number and scheduled post time. First post means the start of the first race; it is not the start time for every race on the program.

Use the next-race cards for upcoming starts and the completed-race cards to catch up. Open the race details before comparing distances, surfaces or finishing positions. If a racecard is not yet listed, check the official calendar for the planned racing day and return for the published entries rather than carrying over another season’s field.

Plan your Louisville visit or television viewing

Churchill Downs race dates follow the venue’s Eastern Time calendar. Change the time-zone selector for viewing from elsewhere. For attendance, check the official date’s gate opening, admission and seating information separately from the race post times, leaving room to enter and get to your viewing area.

Television coverage may cover several races or begin before the feature contest. Match an announced program window to the race you want, then follow the provider’s viewing instructions. Use the official Fall Meet page and November calendar for the track’s current visitor information. Available finishes and replay links belong on the individual race page.

Churchill Downs Fall Meet 2026: Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Fall Meet the same as the September Meet?

No. They are distinct editions at Churchill Downs. A September result stays with the September page even while the Fall Meet is taking place.

Is the Kentucky Derby part of the Fall Meet?

No. The Kentucky Derby belongs to the spring racing calendar. Use this page for the late-October and November edition at the same racecourse.

Do all races start at the first-post time?

No. First post applies to race one. Choose the specific race number for its own scheduled start, and allow for changes during the card.

Where should I check tickets and arrival information?

Use Churchill Downs’ official information for your chosen date. Admission, seating, gate times and race post times are separate details to check before travelling.
